The area around the Torridge
Estuary has been designated as a Biosphere Reserve
and the whole coastline is an AONB. The first link

from Hartland.

The local stately home is
Hartland Abbey, which has beautiful gardens and
grounds. It also has cottages to rent, one of which
was used for the shooting of the recent BBC version
of Sense and Sensibility.

There
is a wide variety of accommodation available depending
on whether you are on your own or staying with your
family. If you wish to stay in the village the most
convenient is right next door at 2 Harton Manor.

There is another B and B very close to the workshop,

There are lovely gardens here with wonderful views.

right on the dramatic coastline.
Ten minutes away there are several old farmhouses,

Camping
If you wish to camp there
are two campsites available. Allins in the village
has tent and caravan spaces plus some caravans to

In the hamlet of Stoke, opposite the church is Stoke
Barton campsite, on a working farm.

The most expensive is Berry House , which you would
need a party of 24 to fill, but I enclose it for
interest, it is a huge old farmhouse beautifully
